So when you connect it to the computer and then view the AutoPlay control panel, it's not listed at the bottom in the Devices category?

Autorun is a security risk - the fact that's highly restricted for USB drives in Vista and 7 is in response to the many 'switchblade' exploits that plagued Windows XP.

Win7 mostly works autoplay based on the content and less so on the manner it is presented. hit the start button and type in autoplay into the search box or go into the control panel. Under this menu in the picture you will want to change the software and games as well as the mixed content ones to whatever your desired action is. Sometimes you will have to change the dvd and cd settings since again some usb drives play as if they are dvd/cd drives, especially if you have something like an install burned onto it.

Try it and let us know!

Nope, this doesn't work...
Windows 7 has DISABLED a feature to run programs with autoplay on usb flash drives...
There must be some way to add this feature back but i think that this has something to do with registry...not my speciality...
I was just thinking that maybe someone has already solved that...
and because my drive shows up as "Device with removable storage" then it ain't CD, DVD or BR

I think the reason why it's not working is because AutoPlay is not configured for it.

So, after inserting the USB flash drive, do the following:
  1. Open the AutoPlay control panel (the easiest way is to open the Start menu and type autoplay and then press Enter).
  2. Scroll down to the very bottom and look for the USB flash drive in the Devices category.
  3. Change it to whatever you wish to have it do from the list of choices.
  4. Click Save on the bottom-right part of the window.
If it continues to not work, then right-click the USB flash drive in My Computer and choose Open AutoPlay....

Failing all of this, I don't know what else to try besides manually running it.
