Artifacts

I have unlocked my pipelines and vertex shader on my eVGA 6800 and i am getting artifacts. Is there a way to eliminate those? I am OK on CoD and CoD2 but on BF2, F.E.A.R. and Star Wars BFII I get them. Is there any way to get rid of them other than closing the extra pipes and vertex shader?

I havent OC's the card yet, not sure if I am going to. Would OC'ing it with the unlocked pipes help or make it worse?

Please help.

What are your idle and load temps? You're getting them without and OC?

EDIT: Overclocking will make it worse, as artifacts are caused by the GPU overheating I believe.
