Steelseries Xai Problem.

Hello,

Anyone have this mouse and have a slow boot up? And if this can be fixed.

Always stuck on USB controller. And then the bios doesn't recognize the mouse anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah mine is slow too. I even had another mouse plugged in to check if it was just the Xai. It just takes a few seconds so its not a big deal.

Yea, but doesn't that suck? I wish they would release a firmware update so it can be recognized, instead of the bios trying to figure out what it is. Thanks.

This may sound weird but I've been through the worst of it.

My Bloodrage doesn't boot at all above stock clocks (cannot be bothered to test the exact MHz) with the Xai plugged in!

I used to have it happily at 4GHz 24/7 and for some reason I rebooted one day and couldn't keep the overclock since then. I searched for a week trying to figure out what the cause was and then I looked at the post code on the LCD and it said number 50. So I unplugged all the USB devices I had except for my keyboard and by elimination it came down to my mouse. Right now running at my previous overclock with no problems at all. Now I've grown into unplugging my Xai right before rebooting and I ALWAYS unplug it after I finish using the PC. It's tedious yes but I love the mouse too much

I'll get another motherboard soon though

I'm getting the same but my computer won't start at all. It keeps saying Loading...

I'm sending mine to RMA cause the LCD barely works.

I have had mine for awhile and it has a very slow boot time as well. Today I decided to see if it was really the mouse or my motherboard. I used a wireless mouse that I have and it booted fine. The weird thing is that not only is my mouse having slow boot times but it also makes Windows recognize all my other external USB devices (UPS battery and Printer) slow as well.

its a common problem with the xai,it has to do with the os not wanting to power the mouse fully yet so it slows down

I've heard it's a motherboard problem. Check for BIOS updates, and check out the SteelSeries FAQ.
