so when the fsb is up to 1333,my p43 board can handled it quite well,so did E5300 as well,I guess.meanwhile,my DRAM was supposed to tuned up to 9-9-9-24 considering the 1333 DRAM freq. but CPUZ shows it stayed at 8-8-8-20.proven to be unstable,so I changed it to 9-9-9 myself in BIOS,however it came to boot failure,I mean the blackscreen, cant entering BIOS.
sorry, looks like it has nothing to with e5300 at all,but I dont think my DRAM is malfunction, never met any broken DRAM before, right?
actually...broken DRAMs are more common than you think, but it also could be a broken DIMM so try to install your DDR3 in a different DIMM and if that doesn't work and you are sure than you set your DRAM to its default voltage, timings and speed then you probably have a broken DRAM

also if you have a different computer that supports DDR3 then you could try your DRAM with it and conclude the matter faster

Let me tell you that I increased the overclock and has responded great, I prove it with the same games and it works awesome, no more hangs, restarts or any sign of weakness
great to hear mate, but as i said, if a cheap PSU goes out, it will probably take a CPU, MB or GPU with it, even if it doesn't, you are still supplying your PC components with energy that isn't clean nor constant and you might be damaging them in this way

anyway, be careful

made a 4ghz run on my processor with a single stick of crucial ballistix (the other one crapped out and refused to work even with a massive amount of voltage running through it), and managed to squeeze 20.3gflops average out of the processor (memory useage was 600MB, any more and the OS would start choking), which places me 3rd for fastest Pentium Dual core.

now i just have to wait to get my mitts on a 4gb kit of 1066 and a much better heatsink (will most likely end up being an H50, a normal 120mm heatsink would not work as the socket is too close to the top of the board and thus the case). Then i will REALLY have fun, and possibly take the speed throne.

damn´╝îlet go of the high FSB persuit,1300mhz is high enough,I will keep it for a while,I just read some articles about the comparison of ddr2 and ddr3, 800 vs 1333,1600.using lots of softwares, games for benchmark, turns out ddr3 was almost equal with ddr2 in performance, now I have to say cpu main clock play biggest role in most situations, especially when gaming.I guess my E5300 3.7ghz is capable of helping my GTX 460 doing its job.

I know, really, but as I say, its only temporary solution till my parts supply returns, I think middle February to get the PSU.

hi omari, now I got a question about test softwares, wondering real difference among them, been using ORTHOS,heard of prime95,OCCT,but never tried them, I also hear that the IBT(Intel burn test) is far more harder than the others,it said that it required less 1hr to test stablility, while the other like ORTHOS needs over 6hrs to do that,is it true? as far as I know,IBT is not as popular as the others, why is it?worried about killing cpu confused.gif

Great thread, well done to Omari for keeping it going!!

I have the E5300 currently clocking at 3.2 going to push that up to 3.6 after reading all these posts

My only concearn is my rubbish ECS motherboard with its ridiculous bios settings.

Its only a temp pc so not too bothered about shortening the chip life, But would like it to be stable enough for a few months,

anyways, here's my current snapshot, I'll see what you guys say before I OC anymore..
