I believe i have finally found my highest possible OC 4303 mhz 331 x13 with max temps hitting 62. Any higher than this and i have to throw more voltage at the cpu than im comfortable with.

How much voltage are you pushing through it? I'm currently putting 1.5V's @ 4.2Ghz.
@ Omari ty

After getting alot of new info on apps to use and so on, since I registered here..
And posting my first results on my e5300 and settings. With somewhat bad readings, I have got it down to this:

e5300 @ 3.8 Ghz
Multi: 11.5
Fsb: 333
ram: 1333 mhz ( cant get it to 1600!! ) my motherbord supports it and my ddr3 sticks support it. But the brand I use is not included in my motherbord info for speeds up to 1600 o.c (as they call it).

cpu temperature in different cpu stress apps:

Intelburn (high setting) 75C Max without any stability issues
OCCT ( after 30 mins running ) 59c Max whitout any stability issues
I used the Core temp app to see core temp 75c & 59c

Idle core temp: on core #0 33c, core #1 37c. Why is that ??

I use the cpu cooler EVERCOOL Transformer 4 Heatpipe

Voltage during full cpu load : 1.376 v

What do u guys think? is the temp to high ? I think its the maincause not to oc my cpu more...
And should i increase the voltage some ?

Ty for any feedback!

/ Markus

The core temps are fine, ideal is also fine since your CPU has 2 cores they are usually named core 0 and core 1

good overclock too

2x GTX460 + E5300 = big bottleneck

You should get an i5 quad

Hi all, I have e5300 R0 SLB9U with VID 1.2625, Vdroop - 0.008 (1.36-1.352 in CPUz) Vdrop - 0.0225(1.3825(in BIOS)-1.36 (in CPUz)) and Kingston HyperX @ 1066MHz 5-5-5-18 @ 1.9V (couldnt get 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2V). I'm trying to OC on Asus P5QL-e motherboard and i keep having some trouble.
First of all I can get to ~3GHz (230-233FSB - 920 RAM) with everything on default and auto(except RAM, C1E off, multiplyer 13).
I can get 3.2GHz on 1.3-1.31V (in CPUz) everything else on auto and default.
BUT when I try anything more with x13 multiplyer I can only get @ 1.368V(max voltage allowed by Intel) 3.3-3.4Ghz, I cant get 266x13=~3.5GHz without going to 1.37-1.38 in CPUz (witch is kind of strange), so I'm assuming it has something to do with other configurations in BIOS (how clever of me )
I saw that SB needs to be on 1.55V but my motherboard has 1.1-1.4V range so I set it to 1.3, NB is set to 1.2(default is 1.1). I have some other voltages but I dont know what they are and what to set them to: PPL V, FSB Termination V and PCIE sata V so they are on auto. The last 2 are also on auto (LLC and GTL)

I am currently running on 10x333 with 1.32V because I cant get 10.5x333 with 1.368V.
So can anyone help me getting at least 3.5GHz within 1.368V. Thanks

welcome to the club mate

i am not sure why you need such a high voltage for 3.5Ghz, most E5300 can reach that speed with little or no voltage bump, also, your NB voltage is good and the SB voltage isn't important when overclocking,

anyway make sure that your DRAM speed is close to the default speed as you increase the FSB speed, maybe thats your problem

Good to be here
I dont think its because of the RAM its a bit buggy but when I put it on 800 and 1.8V with 5-5-5-18 (its fabric default) its the same thing...
I cant figure out the problem it cant be that I got such a bad piece of e5300... what should I do with other voltages leave them on minimum (first after auto) or ?
I saw in the earlier post that it was suggested that LLC be turned off... why? it helps vdrop?
Thread Starter
LLC is supposed to eliminate v-drop so its up to you

as for your CPU's high voltage requirement i can't think of anything else
