Hopefully, it was just that disc. I had ripped prolly 100 DVD's without issue in the weeks leading up to the overclock. And now, this was the first DVD I've ripped since the overclock. I'll run a few more through in the next couple nights.

Just for reference, I have two HDD's; one with my OS (Windows 7 64-bit) and programs, and the other is strictly a "media drive". I store all the DVD's, music, games, etc. on that drive.

Thanks for the posts, guys.
100 DVDs is probably a lot to expect from a cheap drive

you can try to defrag but if that doesn't work it will cost you 15-20 USD to by a new DVD drive

omari...thanks for your help (a couple weeks ago). Finally, I decide to use E5400, instead of E5300. I can reach 3.8 Ghz at a G31 crappy motherboard (Asus P5KPL AM EPU) @ 43C idle. I use 3,25 Ghz as daily use, because of limitation of RAM and Mobo. My RAm is kingston value PC 6400 and my motherboard is labelled "5000 hrs VRM" @105 C. I believed I can reach it any further, if I Have better mobo and RAM. Btw thanks omari. and glad to posting in here.

I actually ran defrags last night, but, I don't have anymore DVD's to rip. I'm headed over to my girlfriends house tonight, so I'll grab some more DVD's that need to be ripped.

Also, being a HTPC, I think I'm gonna replace the stock cooler. My rig gets a bit too loud in the living room...kinda annoying for what its purpose is.

Pretty sure I'm gonna pick up this. Then, maybe I'll try and push the overclock a bit further.

Ripped a couple more discs with DVD Shrink. I think my normal rip speeds have returned. Maybe it was just a bum disc I was having issues with.

Still wanting to order that Scythe Shuriken. Hoping/waiting for Newegg to offer free shipping before I bite.
