The bright side to this problem is that one core failing means you are close to stabilizing your CPU and if your temp is say 60C under stress then a simple bump of +0.01or +0.02 should make your CPU 100% stable

just go to bios overclock menu. play with fsb and multiplier. keep ram on default clock , and give correct voltages. if u go like for 3.6ghz 12x300fsb. u need like 1.30-35v etc. i think first you should check old posts, there is many help what you are looking for.

Thanks in advance and God Bless!

BTW I have a Stock HSF and Planning to buy Deep Cool Ice Blade Pro Dark next month.
first its ok to have the stock cooler, i can take my E5300 from 2.6Ghz (stock) to 3.75Ghz 100% using stock cooler, that not to say that the stock cooler is good because its as cheap and thin as they come but we have the E5300 45nm fabrication to thank since it enables the CPU to have a very good overclocking margin and still give relatively cool temperatures @ 35% 40% OC

Now, i download you MB manual and i am going to give you the steps you need to do and the setting that you need to change to get to 3.5Ghz which isn't a high OC by the E5300 standards

ok so

A- Enter the Bios
B- Go to advanced Bios features

1- CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) (Note) [Disabled]

2- CPU EIST Function (Note) [Disabled]

C- Go to MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)

1- CPU Clock Ratio [12X]
2- CPU Host Clock Control [Enabled]
3- CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) 292
4- PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) [100]
5- System Memory Multiplier (SPD) [Choose a multiplier that keeps you DRAM operating @ its default speed (667Mhz) or very close to it]
6- Memory Frequency (Mhz) ? ? this option shows your DRAM speed after you complete step 5
7- DDR2 OverVoltage Control [1.8] if the speed you get in step 6 is close to 667 but if you get a number -very close- to 800 then make the voltage [1.9v]
8- FSB OverVoltage Control [1.2]
9- CPU Voltage Control [1.32500v]

thats all there is to it, just install Prime95 and run blend test of 8 hours to test if your CPU is stable after reaching 3.5Ghz

Good luck
