I did some benchmarks with both setups + single 5770.
Im gonna end up keeping 5870, but 5770 CF isn't bad choice at all!!

Test system and drivers has changed little but clocks and used cpu-cores are the same on both, single 5870 and Crossfire.

Wow 1 5870 is better than two and it is like $40 bucks more than 2 5770's.

5870 costs $100 more than 5770 CF here and I got my 5770 CF setup for $100 less than normal so I'm happy

Very well done, and nicely laid out. This is exactly what I was looking for. I've decided to go with a single 5870 for my new build. If I went with CF I would need a new PSU for sure (currently 560w), and right now that's not really necessary with one card. I know it's pushing it, but it's a way to cut corners with my new build.

Considering that the 5770 is exactly half a 5870 in every meaningful sense (aside from core clock), it pretty much follows that two of them would perform about the same ... nice work, btw.

did u run the unigine on dx11?

i doubt anything will keep my from getting the 2 5770's, unless my current card doesnt sell
