With there being only 1 multi threaded benchmark and the quads being clocked 400mhz lower it renders them absolutely useless If amd quad and dual chips are going to compete we need the same clock speed and to run only 2 threads in wprime since you can clock cores individually (or even lock them off) this will not hurt performance either way. If this doesn't happen then the dualcores will completely dominate, I'd recommend making it either completely single threaded or rethinking things a littlebit.

If this doesn't happen I will use my 965 as a dualcore for single threaded and quad for prime Same chip different rules doesn't make sense huh!

Guess I'll do this on the Phenom II with some LN2.

How about we sub PiFast for 3D '06 CPU scores...and leave everything else as is...this way:

2x single threaded benchies
2x multithreaded benchies
1x bandwidth bench

....opinions..?

(I want to keep the dual vs. quad comp with the same class...in your opinion, would the above suffice?)

Ummm, not sure I like the sound of that. Throughing a 3D rendering app in there is really gonna change the way we will have our OS's stripped compared to the other runs. That's just me being lazy I guess. I about to spend a few days creating an OS just for this run.

I posted "cpu scores only" from 3D 06'...we would not be tallying the whole score...I dont know..Ive had a few too many...give me the answer, so we can bench already!! I'll be out until Wed..so lets just get this settled before then so we can have a fun comp..

Yea, but those of us with the free 3D06 version will have to have display drivers, DX installed....ehhh, it's not that bad, I'm just lazy. I'll do it if it's in the comp.

I want to keep the the dual and quads in the same class but just knock the multi threaded benchmarks on the head so its a level playing field. Pifast, super pi, max mem and single threaded prime?

Aha. I'll be getting the rest of my loop (finally!) hopefully by this weekend, so give me a few weeks and I'll hopefully have some nice scores in - Nothing botched together by using a stock cooler and freezing nights =P

Also vmodding my 4850's memory and vGPU tomorrow after school..Not perfectly related to the competition, but I'm excited none-the-less.

Good luck guys!

that's what I like to hear solder + gpus = success, after you vMod them you should run some hwbot benchmarks and join the OCN volt mod squad over in the vMod section

I just added 3x 8800GTX that are volt modded to my loop so it looks like this comp benefits me more than a high clock competition becuase these things dump a crap load of heat into my loop

New competition, nice, wonder which class I gonna run this time

Can I use a Intel quad and disable 2 cores and run it as a dual?
