neo2 IS a 939 board, there is a 754 baord, but i forgot what its called.

and you don't need to go tell people your "magical instructions" to get to 2.5 magically. each processor is different, and if he wants to find his sweet spot, then he needs to work his way up FROM stock speeds himself all the way up to his magic number.

HT can be set at 3x regardless. you can go up to 4x all the way up to like 270 (it puts you at 1080, and thats fine on most boards), but you don't need near all that bandwidth, which therefore makes sense to have it at 3x.......

but does anyone know a program that can adjust Fan speeds and check CPU temps and stuff like that? I only used Corecenter for that, but it ****s up the FSBs and has no advanced options like the bios. Any suggestions? I dont feel like going in bios every frickin time im wondering what my CPU temp is

And ive still got about 500$ in my pocket after my new equpment arrives. Should i buy a 10000RPM hdd, or a new processor? or new ram?

use smartfan. it allows temp readings in windows. also i'd spend the 500 bucks on pr0n or something more useless than a computer but if you want to buy something, i'd say buy a bigger PSU. OCZ 600w powerstream runs about 130-150 bucks.

Ok, my mistake. When he said "MSI K8N Neo2" I thought he meant "MSI K8N Neo v2.0" wich is a 754 board that I once owned.
As for your thoughts on overclocking it to 2.5 being "magical",(EDIT). The is NOTHING wrong with trying 2.5 right off the bat, the WORST that can happen is he'll have to reset the BIOS.
You're allowed to state your oppinion, but don't try to make me look like an idiot when what I suggested is in NO way idiotic. Different methods is all, it's his choice.

thats all fine and swell if you think he should try 2.5 off the bat, but the right way to overclock is by working your way up..... i'm not being a "jerk". your 2.5 seems to be your answer to everybody's overclocking adventures when they need to sit down and get familiar with their bios.

nonono, vcore is goign to be needed on 2.5 GHz. you'll have to bump it up. you might even have to bump it up a little while going to 2.25...

1.65v as long as you stay below your recommended temperatures. also a 350w might make you unstable too, i know that i wasn't stable w/ a 380w PSU
