Not the best game choice on testing this theory IMO but thanks for the effort. rep+ It's great to see people think outside the box in their benching and experimenting.

Crysis doesn't respond much to core clock overclocking, it's more of a memory bandwidth game. Since the cores are independent and the memory bandwidth is what crossfire matches to each other, you won't see much difference flip flopping the stock vs. overclock and the one card that has 940mhz core increases the frames rate only a very little. If you do one more test with both card having a memory clock of 1400 and only one with a core clock of 950, you will allow full memory bandwidth, and get a frame rate close to the "both cards fully overclocked" frame rate.

Finally if you pick another game that responds more to core clock, your "mixed clocks" frame rate should be closer to your "full overclocked" rate than the "all stock" frame rate.
