That means it has a better IHS, which it doesn't. There is no such thing as "heat tolerant silicon". Heat messes with all silicon, all the time.

Opterons are not very different from their Athlon counterparts, except that (in some cases) they have a larger L2 cache. I have seen no evidence that they even test the chips for thoroughly than the Athlons.

Love amd. i had a amd althon 1.3ghz on a march 2002 pc and it beat a intel celeron 2.8ghz both with 256 ram in xp and 80gb hard drives. the celceon pc was made in april 2004. amd worked faster and quiter othan celeron

If you are talking about finding the core type of your processor, if you dont already have CPU-Z, get it and look under the cpu tab. The code name box will have the core of your chip.

Also, fill out your system specs in the user cp section. This will be beneficial in future posts.

easy comparison Aqua Mark 2003 Intel celeron my other rig 2.66 celron D overclocked to 3.8ghz running the same mobo as mine except Intel version same pci card Score was 7,000. my rig now I just did benchmark today 44,912. big difference there. Basically if i were to buy a new system today i would go fx-60 dual core cpu and overclock it to match a fx57. which is 2.8ghz which is =to a 4.2ghz Intel
