I want to overclock P8400 and 9400M G

HI

If you read my specs, I have a 2.4 GHz cpu and I want to overclock to at least 2.7GHz-2.8GHz

And I have a 9400M G integrated GPU ... I understand how overclocking a CPU works, but not to sure about GPU's but would like to see some improvement

This is a laptop computer

I was wondering if someone would like to tell me how to do this and do it right !!! I would prefer to use the Nvidia control panel but if there is something better then plz steer me in the right direction

Overclocking a laptop is pretty much impossible as the BIOS will be locked for overclocking (ie, there won't be any overclocking options available).

You could try SETFSB, CPUCool, MEMSet, etc. but they are difficult to use and limited in how much they can overclock.

As for your Nvidia video you could try enabling Nvidia's hidden overclocking function by using "coolbits" or try "PowerStrip".

Also, overheating will be an immediate problem when any laptop is overclocked.

Dont even bother if its a laptop. Its prone to overheating and such. I think its a bad idea.

Well I manage to overclock a bit using ntune, I pushed the cpu as far as I could without getting BSOD

but something concerns me ... the clock speed fluctuates, the max I can push it is 2.7 GHz but it downclocks to 2.6 GHz and then to 1.7 GHz and then back to 2.7 GHz .. is this normal ? I got this data from CPU-Z

and as for the 9400M G, I OC'd the graphics clock to 510 MHz from 450 MHz and the GPU proccessor clock to 1.15 GHz from 1.0 GHz

and everything is stable

I'm gonna try to push the processor clock of the GPU to 1.5 GHz and I'm done and as for temps, when I was running Orthos temps never reached went beyond 75C

Keep you posted
