*HELP* College Build - Page 3

Are you planning on going Crossfire? If you aren't, you could save $80 getting a 790X board instead. The only real difference is that 790FX supports 2 PCIe operating at x16, while the 790X supports 1 at x16 or 2 at x8 each.

In that case, I'd recommend my motherboard. Here's a comparison between it and the Crosshair III:

YW Just let me know if you need help with anything else.

Oh, one more piece of advice: be careful when assembling your PC with the Sugo. I managed to get quite a few cuts doing this build, including a long one across the pad of my left index finger.

Bright side: my fingerprint has now changed

Oh, and last last piece of advice: I'd also recommend a wireless networking card in place of the PCI cooling fan. After all, you might one day move to an apartment/house where ethernet networking isn't a possibility, and for $20 it's nice to have that "just in case" option.

i would not get the M4A78T-E, although it was fine for me, i just got the gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 and it has made things great, it gave me a more stable overclock, and the BIOS has so many more options it ridiculous. it also has SATA III and USB 3.0 future proofing a little. and it is all for approximately the same price at i think $10 more.

Well after looking into it more deeply i have decided to go with the ASUS Crosshair III Formula Motherboard. It does have a fast Crossfire support for the future, its ASUS, it comes with a Creative X-Fi sound card (im an audiophile), and its at a good price

Hey, I just wanted to thank everyone for helping me with the computer build. I finished working on it, and i have posted a few pics of the "College Killer." The total was $1234.20k, just passing my budget of 1200... however i would have loved to spend the extra 36 cents to make the total 1234.56
