haha but thats what i was getting at, because honestly ive tried, and it just doesnt overclock. Thats why im a little iffy on getting pc3200, because some ram overclocks, some doesnt, and a lot of it is luck of the draw. i dont want to have bad luck with 3200 stick. Id much rather have bad luck with a pc4000 stick, because then at least it will still run 250fsb

actually, it wont even run that very well.. right now im running a 100mhz divider, and a 295fsb, so ram is sitting at 195. I could overclock more, but my ram wont let me

and while you are having bad luck w/ your pc4000 stick i'll be running like pc4600 (or whatever the crap ddr600 is) w/ my pc3200 rated memory just get the right stuff and you'll be fine. they're just numbers and they can be changed with a bit looser timings and some voltage.

You know
I just cant see how you guys get such hi FSB's with these ram sticks. I'm not hi jacking your Post,
i have Geil pc500 and i can only get near 240fsb at best and it might not be stable

meh, dont warry about it. it kind of supports my arguement, good ram is sometimes luck of the draw as to whether or not it will overclock. same as spu chips. some go farther than others.

but one thing you know about tccd is that is all rated to be at least ddr500, so if you get tccd, you're not going to lose.

you're right, because if you want 2 x 1 gb chips of TCCD, they don't make it. TCCD is like 8x32 on two sides of each stick which would make that max TCCD memory to fit 512. can't fit enough of those chips onto 1 gb stick, which means gotta go somewhere else...

OK, I did a little more research on them, read lots of reviews, and Im still not sure whether or not to go with G.Skill over Mushkin. Both use Samsung UCCC chips for starters. From reviews and screenshots from people on various forums, I have seen each ram at its best and worst, those being 250mhz at worst, and 300mhz at their best. G.Skill has the price advantage, of $20. The only reason I have for going with Mushkin over G.Skill is the timings, and the fact that Mushkin was tested and proven to work with the DFI NF4 Ultra-D, im not so sure about G.Skill in that respect. Here are the timings:

Mushkin DDR400: 3-4-3-8
G.Skill DDR400: 3-4-4-8

Ok, I realize this isnt much of a difference, but im looking for the ram that will clock the absolute highest. While saving $20 would be nice, I dont want to end up with slower clocking RAM. Given the info above, would anyone reccommend the Mushkin over the G.Skill, or would G.Skill still be the better buy?

im personaly getting the Gskills. im seeing people hit like 300MHz and its makin me wet, lol! im running 273 x 11 right now and want to run 1:1, but im HOPING i can raise my FSB with this ram. ive done a LOT of reading and was in the same situation as you (i also have the same mb) and my final decision was Gskill. i ordered mine from newegg last nite since they decided to take my crappy Corsairs back
