Anybody know of any non-universal, non-EK Nickel blocks that'll fit the 5850 Xtreme? I haven't had much luck searching and this is my first water cooling setup so my knowledge of what to look for isn't that great.

I don't mind a universal really as long as it does the job.

well, this says its a 6870 block, but I'm not too sure.

If you want to go w/ a universal block, xspc makes a great one

I guess I've just been under the impression that you need a full block to make sure the pcb is cooled as well, but seeing as how it's not a 580 for example I guess I really wouldn't need to worry?

Thanks for the info, I'll get a universal in a month or so :-)

The primary thing to cool is the gpu itself. A fullcover block will cool the vram and vrm too.

For universal blocks, simple heatinks w/ sticky thermal pads can be purchased to cool the vram. For the vrm, its possible your stock cooler may have separate heatsinks, use those. if not, there are some small heatsinks available for vrm you can buy too.

Hey guys im sorry to have to do this but with my new job I really have no time what so ever to get on and update the thread or really get people added. So far everyone has been added to the front page but for future adds I may not have anytime since my job my requires a bit of overtime hours

Anyways I really want to keep the thread alive so Im going to ask. Does anyone want to take over the Thread for good. You will become the NEW owner & will be able to do as you please to the main page. Updated info & user info & what not.

Post once here if you would like to become the new owner & I will PM the mod I am working with to get you setup. Thanks & sorry about this.
