GeIL One TCCD? - Page 2

I think that GeIL either either stopped handpicking TCCD chips or they ran out of their stock of TCCD chips altogether. Go with G.Skill or OCZ.

Its pretty much luck to get TCCD, althought buying them now you would have a high chance of getting them.

The way you tell if they are TCC5 or TCCD is by the version number on the bottom right of the sticker thats on the RAM sticks.

Version 1.0 is TCCD
Version 1.1 is TCC5

Find where evers cheapest and cross your fingers. OCZ doesn't garentee TCCD chips in their RAM.

newegg has TCCD. since OCZ hasn't put TCC5 in since Aug. any place that moves product should have TCCD. I'd go w/ newegg as I bought my platinum rev. 2 from them about a month and a half ago and I got TCCD.

and if you get the OCZ platinum PC4800 then they guarantee TCCD.

all TCCD will perform similarily.
it will all do DDR400 at 2-2-2-5
DDR500 at 2.5-3-3-7 or about there
and DDR600 at 2.5-4-4-8 or about there again

yep, they perform bout the same as the geil one. all TCCD will perform similarily.

even though it is almost certain to get TCCD OCZ platinum rev. 2 if you want to be 100% sure then you can get the OCZ platinum PC4800 or some g.skill

we're referring to the specific IC's that are used to make the memory.

both TCCD and TCC5 are made by Samsung. the TCC5 is basically a down binned TCCD chip (not as good) When you are looking at RAM it is usually important to find out what actual chips are used to make it because that will tell you aproximate performance of the RAM. While some companies hand pick or have better pcbord or heatspreaders or even better warranty... the main component is the actual memory IC.
