CNC Milling

I have access to a CNC Mill at my school and I don't have many projects in mind that I could make, I have been working on a custon fan grill recently, havent cut it yet though, will post pics when I do. If anybody has a project (custom waterblock perhaps) and can give me some rough plans I could machine it out and send it to you. The mill the school has is similar to this one, ours is newer however. To make a long story short my school district built a massive new highschool that opened this year and made huge new metal and wood shops, millions of dollars went in to them. So if anybody has project ideas, PM me or post them here.

The laser can do more precise and intricate stuff, which is nice. I am limited to the width of the bit I use. Cutting 1/8" aluminum works really well though, comes out with few burrs, easy to file or sand off, I have used a CO2 laser before however, its a nice machine, does yours leave that heated metal look near where the laser cut? The other thing our school has is what is called a Plasma-CAM, basically it is a plasma cutter that you clamp on to a 2 axis CNC table, it can do pretty precise stuff if you have it set up right with a fine tip cutter. I might mess around with that and see what kinds of stuff I can make as well.

My dad owns a sheet metal fabricating shop so I have access to a 2000 watt cnc laser that can cut up to half inch sheet metal with 5 x 10 foot tables, so let me know if you need real cutting power Also just for reference I can cut plastic such as lexan and stuff ( did a 120 mm fan hole in my lian li case window with it, came out beautiful ) , and this thing cuts fast enough it does not leave the heat discoloration crap!!!

That labrynth design is a proven one that works well and is fairly simple.
You can get yourself an "A" and a nice block to boot!

Yeah, I designed a waterblock, but I don't know if I will make it or not. If somebody would buy it I might make it, but I'm not going to make a whole WC setup just for that. HERE is a picture of the 3D model I made in a few minutes. It is a basic representation of what it would look like if I made it. I would need to find a small cutter for the gaps between the diamond shaped "fins". It would be a big project, and I am still working on a tool-makers vise that is taking forever because is it super-precision, tolerances are less than 0.001"

That design should work good, It is very similar to the Apogee. Here is a place to buy cutting tools: http://www.discount-tools.com/
