Ya, I've read about that. Is DFI going to compensate in any way?

Actually, the OCZ was great but it was in the old rig, the new psu is the 600w silverstone modular deally. Thats a little scary to hear about ncsa's opti., is there a way to avoid this, like say don't use the speciel vid or something?

From what I've read, don't clear the BIOS by removing the battery.....ever.

It wasn't what he was doing. It is a bug on the Expert that causes 3v to go to the CPU after restart when the Special VID percentage doesn't restore to the selected level. It is suggested to keep the Special VID low, and to update to, Bios 12/07, which allegedly fixes this issue.

Others have lost FX/Opterons/Dual Cores processors and even a golden sample FX-57 has been lost. It seems tha the straight A64s are taking the punishment.

if you're using the eXpert flash it to the 12/7, if you're using the ultra-d I've heard that 6/23 -3 works well for winbond chips, but then again I have no experience with the ultra-d yet

Flash to BIOS 12-07, this is now Official release and works well.

The Expert BIOS is not optimised for TCCx so you will struggle to get these modules to run DDR600, albeit a handful of other users have done so, but these MBs are aimed at BH/UTT or the newer 2Gb kits.

For the older MBs use 623-3 for TCCx and -2 for BH/UTT, -1 for anything else.
