@ nzxt gamma users

would want to know if the hdd cage is removable? since im planning to put a 240mm rad there (bottom mounted) because cant put it on top since the clearance is really tight.

and if ever it will be removed, will a 240mm rad fit there? TIA!

Yeah, I would like to know, too. If I remove the HDD cage, the airflow will improve... Has anyone already done this?

The middle one? Or the bottom one? I'm interested in removing the middle one.

I want to remove the bottom one, but removing the middle one will be useful too.

Any luck on taking out the middle drive bay? The one that holds 2 drives? I want a 5970 but before I get one I need to take out that bay.

The middle bay is held with rivets, which are aluminum. I used several methods to remove rivets. The bottom rivets I just drilled out. The top rivets - the ones connecting the HD cage to the 3.5 bay - I got with a combination of side cutters, chisels and files. Since those rivets are the ones you want to remove (along with similar rivets connecting the 3.5 bay to the 5.25 bay), you should be able to do it yourself. I would recommend removing the bottom (3.5 bay / HD cage) rivets first, then going after the 3.5/5.25 rivets from inside the 5.25 bay using side cutters.

Personally, I don't like the HD cage - obstructs airflow. I mount my two HD's like this:

I have two mounted like this now.

How's it going everyone? I followed ehume here, and figured I'd ask to join. I'm the proud new owner of a Beta Evo.

I love the way this thing looks (I'm kind of a utilitarian) and bought it because of the huge blank side panels. A family member is a very good artist and he is going to turn my rig into a one of a kind piece of art, but for now it is what it is. Looks good either way. This case met all my requirements and blew my expectations out of the water seeing as I only paid like 35 shipped.

I have question though, if I can pick everyone's brain... what's with the 3.5 floppy bay, and nowhere on the front face for it to come through? Did they just grab the whole assembly out of another case and forget to delete it or something? I have to say it had me laughing. For a case that seems so well put together this seems kind of an oversight on NZXT's part.

That's the main thing I have against the case. If it wasn't for that I would have purchased one last year. They could have easily used a 6 drive 3.5" bay instead of that useless layout.

Well your pickier than I am then. -Laughs.- I didn't even notice until it was on my desk. The sucky thing I didn't realize til later is my card reader is on my floppy. I mean I knew this case didn't support the floppy... But I didn't put two and two together, so I had to steal a 5.25 to 3.5 carriage I had laying around for the drive. It looks horrible, but it's only until I get my fan speed controller which has card readers built in. I'm sure gonna miss my 3.5 floppy. Not that I've used it for anything in the past ten years, but I keep it for sentimental purposes.
