I wouldn't want to go over the video card. Not because it would cause problems but just because I pull the card out and swap around often. Plus it would look even more tacky then going under the video card. e
Some people have ran it under the mobo the short distance from the backplate hole to the top near the 4/8 pin connection. Cable might be too thick for that. If so you could cut the sleaving to get them to lay flatter there. Just be carefull not to expose any actual wiring.
Still tempted to take it back apart and dremel in my own 8 pin hole in the top of the tray.
