RAM telling program and upgrades

Thread Starter
I have an Inspiron 9300 Dell Laptop, I currently have 512 MB of ram, and would like to either put another 1GB or 512MB RAM in it to speed up general programs (but mainly BF2).
So I need to find out what kind of RAM I need, and I heard about this program a few months ago in I think PC Magazine that shows you what kind of RAM the computer already has in it. Does anybody know what this program is called?

thanks

EDIT: specs of comp: 1.86 GHz 782Mhz, 512MB of Ram
