What to do?

Thread Starter
I have posted once here before, and I didn't really have the knowledge to understand the answer of the question I asked. Lol. I have been working on my ability to understand the lingo and I hope it helps.
Anyway, the reason I'm here is to ask a simple question, or two. I won't bother typing all my system specs because I think they are listed automatically below, we'll see. I had an AMD 3200+ 64 bit system that was powerfull but a little unstable for some of the programs I was running(Older games mostly), so I went and got an Intel. It runs very stable, but 15% slower overall. 1.With my current system, is there a better CPU I could pick up that would increase my overall performance for gaming, and OC'ing, without going over the $250US mark?( If not, must I go AMD again to get the horsepower for newer games? My MB is dual core supported, would that help?)

2. My graphics card seems very strong for the price, and I was curious if I would notice a signifigant increase from say a 6800 style or X800, or is best to wait until I could afford a 7800?

Ok, so that was like 5 questions. My bad. I'm really impressed with the stability and temps of my Intel CPU, I just didn't realize I would get roasted by the guy I sold my AMD system to in graphics benchmarks. Lol. Well, it's not that funny. Thanks for your help in advance.

Fantail.

Unfortunatly I havent payed attention to intel pricing so i cant answer that. But for the others...

Dual core at the moment will do you nothing for games, as thet are not multithreaded. 2 years from now is a diffrent story...

as for the graphics card, swiching to those mentioned will give you a performance boost, but bot enough in my mind to justify the purchase. its best to wait untill you can get a 7 or x1 series card.
