Team MHz Masters (on a break) - Page 16

Hey guys!

Its the infamous gill!
Sorry i havnt posted much, my PC almost died from my OCing and i havnt been on here in ages to keep the temptation of OCing away.

I think ill start visiting every day again And ive run into a spot of bad luck.
It turns out my favourite game(well its not my fav, but ive been addicted to it the past week or 2) wont let me fold at all while playing, it just minimises until i turn off folding
And with summer coming "down under" there wont be any hope of me being able to OC for a while...but its ok, my pc is going 24/7 now, dunno how long its been since it has had a days rest so ill just keep doing my best i guess

Ive gone for a job at a few places near me, so if i get one ill work heaps through the holidays and should be able to get my conroe/DX10 rig by about first term of school(probably earlier) so wish me luck on the job

Anyway, i guess thats all the new i have...oh and if you dont want all of that rain we'll be glad to take it
EDIT:just noticed my new WU is a 50,000 frame one no fair!

Hiya Gill,

Good luck on the Job for sure! I heard it's been really hot there. You can have some of our rain for sure, we broke an all time record for rainfall in November (15.6" or something). It's still really hard to imagine Christmas in the summer, but I guess your used to it.

As far as folding, just do what you can. You may have to turn down the OC till summer is over. Better than frying your system and not having anything! If you get a Conroe you will be folding 3x as much. I am planning on getting one some day too. We will be the "Conroe Squad" at that point.

WU's after October have been horrible! I dropped down to almost half the PPD I did back then. Not much we can do about it.

Take care, good to see ya!

Sorry guys,

My power just came back on an hour ago (60 hours later). 22 degress outside and my house is just starting to feel warm again (Got down to 50 in here). We just made it through the storm of the century and it really gives you a new outlook not having the most basic needs (Electricity, heat, and water).

I hope you are all ready for Christmas!

Thanks!

I'm still waiting for the house to get warm enough to get a shower. I have a fair bit of damage to take care of, but we are doing ok. Over a million homes lost power thursday evening and there are thousands still without power right now. With it below freezing outside, it's a bad situation for the ones told it will be 10 more days before it's restored.

This was a bad storm to start with and a worse storm came right behind it. 85-90 mph winds are the worst anyone has seen here and the damage in my area is the worst I've seen in the 30 years I've lived here. A guy on the radio phoned in the same except he has lived here since 1935!

It should be a good presentation.

My E6600 has shipped, but the X6800 is backordered for approximately 1-2 weeks. I need to get a P5B Deluxe ordered and figure out what coolant I'm going to use on my second WC system. I think the stuff that shipped with the kit is green, which is a color I don't care for when it comes to computers. Depending on how long it takes the X6800 to arrive, I may get the E6700 back up and running now that my mobo is back from RMA.

One way or another, my points should be way up in the fairly near future. Knowing my luck, though, crappy WUs will probably come back as soon as I get a faster computer back up and running.

Wow Taeric, that's awesome!

Looks like I'm going to be stuck with what I have for a while. Maybe a good thing since ddr3 is due out soon and Windows Vista and DX10 are just coming into the picture. Price on quad core has already dropped by one third so maybe it will all be worth the wait since ddr3 will require a new motherboard anyway.

I can't seem to get away from the 396 pointers taking around 70 hours each. They just keep on coming!

Nice job guys, 3rd place!

We've been in the top 3 since I joined the team. We would have done better if I hadn't lost power for 3 days and I can't get decent WU's either. 2 months now of 392 and 396 pointers that take me like 3 days each.

As always, this month is a new race. Lets see what we can do.

My Dothan has been getting a string of 1499s and is really cranking out the points. I retired my Opty today and got an E6600 up and running at 3.6 GHz. It's not quite as quick as my E6700/P5W system, but it'll do until I get my X6800 in. Once I get that system built and stable, I'll run two X6800 cores and one on the E6600 for the team.

Anyway, if the WUs stay good, it should be a really good month for me. By February, I should have everything all settled.
