help oc'ing my neo4 - Page 4

Is that with 2.8 volts? You want as much as possible set manually.

Try this out....

270 x 10
Vcore 1.5 - 1.55v
HTT x 3
Memory divider 166 (333) 5:4
Leave your memory settings how you had it to get to 230mhz.

You dont want to use a program to overclock, it's preferrably better to do in the bios...overclocking programs can be querky...keep it at 1.6v, you might want to try a tad higher.

I've heard some of the Neo4 series boards have trouble with memory timings. Take the CAS 3 back to 2.5 and see if that helps. I had the same issue, that my board wouldn't even POST at CAS 3 no matter the speed. I know it defies all forms of common sense (tighter timings giving a better OC) but with the BIOS issues that MSI is having, it wouldn't hurt to try.

I, too, have had relatively good success with the Neo4-F, as I'm running 289x9 right now, and have gotten up to and above 333 HT stable. I doubt it's the chip, as most overclock decently.

that was done in the bios, I just used it to show the settings. At that clock , windows booted slowly; so I tried a divider ( auto set) and boom, no boot up. this is the memory I have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145500
If I can get over the mem thing , I might have it beat. What do you do for the setttings, because If I try to change the memlock and nothing else, that is when I get a black screen.

That is actually the same RAM I'm running, though I think it's v.3 or v.4. I couldn't run CAS3, so give it a try.

nooo, dont set the divider to "auto set"....set it to 333, or it might look like 166. Are you setting your HTT multi also? Dont leave anything at auto..

270 x 10
HTT x 3
Vcore 1.6-1.65
Mem divider 333
