Ok so I've overclocked the CPU to 3.6Ghz @ 17.5/206

My temps are holding at 53 C

I set my core voltage to 1.34

Does this clock look limited to my temps, and if so is that expected with my current set-up? or should I be getting better performance out of the hyper 212+ (Maybe try re-seating it? not sure if I applied the AS5 correctly...)

Edit: also I don't think I could allow my ram to run any higher than 1648Mhz (I was getting errors in prime95 in Blend vs running Small FTTs). I read in the overclocking guide that I could drop the divider down to 1333... but would that decrease my performance for gaming?

The idea is that lower speeds with tighter timings should be equivalent to higher speed and looser timings.

Example, in theory, 1333Mhz @ 6-6-6 should be equal (give or take) to 1600Mhz @ 7-7-7. So, we usually either run as tight a timing as we can @ 1600Mhz, or we drop to 1333Mhz, and tighten them up as much as we can.

Running higher speeds is more demanding on the other components (IMC - internal memory controller on the CPU, part of the CPU-NB) than running lower speeds, so it is sometimes better all around with AMD platforms to run 1333Mhz @ tighter timings than 1600Mhz+
