Anyone ever have the desire to just cram all of their game consoles into one box?

Thread Starter
I remember watching The Screensavers on Tech TV (back before it got changed to G4) and Yoshi modded a computer to have tons of consoles in it. I used to think that was just insane, but I'm starting to feel like I'm at the point where I know enough that I could do something like that without too much trouble.

Then again... It's much easier just to use emulators hah. I'm not talking anything illegal here. I do have the ROM for every NES, SNES, and Genesis game I have. I also scanned every cartridge in 400DPI and gave the ROMS and images the exact official name (For example, Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! has exaclty two exclamation points).

That way you have the images of your games right next to the game themselves! It sort of proves I own them too incase some government dude checked out my PC or whatever, because who else would be insane enough to clean, scan, crop, and name like 100 cartridges in such a huge size then waste all that disk space with .bmp images? ME THAT'S WHO!!!

I kind of went off on a rabbit trail there, but all I'm saying is... there's no point. Especially since you can buy the original controllers with USB on http://www.retrousb.com/

I guess the ideal system now would be something with all of those emulators plus a gaming rig, plus an X-Box, X-Box 360, PS2, and Nintendo Revolution

None of those new systems appeal to me in the least. Do any of you feel the same way? I dunno... I stopped caring new consoles after experiencing the disspointent of owning a Gamecube. Nintendo has seroiusly gone down hill since the good old Gold Adventures of Zelda NES cartridge days. Since when is purple a good standard system color? *sigh*

It's 3:25AM. Sorry if my post is a little incoherent. Bed time.

Too bad xbox and ps2 are not emulatable. The PS2 can be, and is even not-too-unstable. You can play games now - at 20% of real-time, on my 2GHz Athlon. If I just had, say, a SMP containing two dual-core 2.5GHz chips I could have the sheer power needed. The xbox isn't even that well developed yet - though easier in princible because of the PC-like architecture.
