why do you need to overclock? if you want my advice, then don't, as it will just stress out your system pointlessly.

I'd say the problem is your video card, not exactly the fastest thing around. Should probably try medium graphics.

ok
i got a galaxy 6800gt o/c ed a bit
i had bf2 running with 1 gig ram and in the sf map warlord i was lagging like an old horse - was like a slide show - (big map)

could not play it -i thought it was my card all along - so i was changing drivers etc

i see someonw in this thread said 1 gig ram was fine to play it - well thats pants - i got another 512mb so i now have 1 and 1/2 gig ram - and guess what - no lagg - even when the artillery is goin off
happy days
medium settings its on and looks great

2 gig would be better probs - but 1 and 1/2 gig is a must .

Whatevers cheapest. The X800GTO2 has like a 99.999% success rate of flashing into an X850XT, so if it's cheaper may as well get that.

I keep telling you guys! BF2 is an absolute pig when it comes to memory resources, I've seen the game use, all by itself, 1.6GB of RAM. That's crazy! Upgrading from 1GB to 2GB was like night and day. Deleting the movies on the game, including the little background movie, frees up about 300MB too.
