Im trying to keep all my Psu troubles in one thread .

another question...

I was reading the some threads yesterday, and i decided to download ati just to see how many Fps (comparing to before) and i was suprised when i saw the +12v rail go from 11.92 --- 11.72. Thats really bad im assuming

but my computer keeps running so im like ok.. , i look at the Fps in the corner and its at 50! Before with my P4 @ 2000mhz i was getting 100fps?

Whats the deal ?

Most cheap motherboards will do this. It's actually the MOSFETS around the CPU that make that noise. I'm not sure if it's bad or not. My CPU does not make that noise but my video card does very loudly when under heavy load.

Sounds like either a hard drive, or PSU (does Prime95 even allow your hard drives to spin?). It is most likely your hard drive spining, or it could be your fans speeding up really fast, then slowing down, due to your PSU not being able to send enough power to the fans because the processor is hogging all of it.

Yeah but he has an ASUS Motherboard.... i'm not sure if that would be the problem, i know what you mean though, it's just like what cheap transformer's do.

Ok, i think im going to be buying a new psu for my comp and this time im getting something with at least 450 watts, and 2 +12v rails with at least 18 amps on each!

I was looking at a few antec ones that i can buy in my area. I dont like beuying off of newegg, but i do have a link to a website. If some of you could look for a good one on that site that would be great!

120 dollars budget..
