My cd drives dont work, at boot their is a beep and then it says press f1 to continue or f2 to go to set-up, diskett 0 failure and diskett 1 failure. my pc isent reading them, i go into my computer and my harddrive is the only one that reads, do you know what the problem might be? is their sumthing i have to do in the bios to register them or somthing?????, i recently disconnected my ide cabels to put my dell into my new case.

Alright, first of all make sure that all of the IDE cables are going the right way. Also, check this for your floppy. Give the CMOS a reset, and try booting up with only 1 RAM chip and CD-ROM drive. It would really help if you posted your system specs in your profile.

Remove the cables from the back of the drives. Check to see if you bent any pins or if it isn't seated completely.

ill do your idea, i have a dell so its nutthing fancy 256 gig ram cd and dvd drives.
