Just googled your mb brand and it seems 1 long beep indicates memory error. I would try resetting cmos if your overclocked at all, if not maybe pull a stick or two to try and find the problem. The manual for your board should have the beep codes in it somewhere, if not tell me the revision number of your bios and I can look it up fer ya. Award bios, yeah?

EDIT: It could also be the video card so try reseating that and also replug the molex. Likley the ram though.

Long beeps are usually memory related, check your settings....after reading how you described the beep, I could hear it in my head, lol...I've heard that sound alot

Yeah, long beeps are usually memory errors. Try relaxing the timmings if you changed them recently.

I just changed the multiplier settings and upped the fsb multiplier to 10x and fsb to 240 .. thats all i did.. and i did get it fixed thankfully it was the memory i had to take out a stick of ram boot then put it back in .. i was wondering is it safe to overclock with my specs without raising the voltage do u think i could get to a stable 2.6ghz.. because im really afraid right now this is my new cpu and if it breaks or something im screwed.. so thanks for all your inputs

The beeping was during bootup screen would be black and therer would be a 5 sec beep followed by a 2 sec rest then a 5 sec beep it would repeat this pattern over and over and over and over again.. lol at first i did the jumper for like 19238120310983128312013 minutes lol i was about to cry because i thought taht i broke it ..

dont worry about damaging your CPU, it's REALLLy hard to do unless you get rediculous with voltages. What kind of memory do you have, list the specs on it please..

you can't run a fsb of 240 with 400mhz ram THAT'S INSANE.

EDIT: if your gonna be playing with overclocking turn fastboot off in bios, or whatever it's called in your version. That's why the cmos reset didn't work but pulling a stick did because it forced an "update".

Huh what do u mean!? wait my fsb isnt 240 sorry my cpuz dosent show me my fsb and in my bios to what i was turning up was my HTT right now after this i set my things back to defcault HTT is 201 with multiplier of 11..
So what your saying is as long as i dont touch my voltages my cpu should not get damaged and if for some reason it dosent turn on i just need to use the jumper?

Also everything runs smoothly right now but i was wondering does flashing the newset bios for my mobo ruin everyghin like my hd so i have to reformat again1?
