i have gotten mine as high as 600/570 with no artifacting in ATItool for 30 minutes but i get nervous leaving it that high, with the artic cooling temps don't go above 57 celsius at those clocks. Every card is different though some will do better than others. This place http://www.vr-zone.com.sg/?i=2891 has an excellent eview on the r423 base GTO and it deals with both modding and overclocking.

Is there any way to know for certain that this is modable? Also could anyone walk me through it. I've read alot of articles but most talk about making a bootable floppy. I dont have a floppy drive. Any and all help would be appreciated. or maybe this is beyond my scope....

Thanks
If you post your Fuse Config from ATI Tool, details i my sig, I can let you know whether your pipelines are likely to unlock

What's up with my card? I also have a X800GTO 256MB, AGP (Don't know the "manufacter" like e.g. Sapphire). I have checked "Everest Home Edition" and got that it's "Memory clock" is at 350MHz and the "GPU clock" is at 392MHz. Why is it so low? Everyone in the forum keeps talking about over 400MHz and stuff? I only get 4644 3DMARK05 points comparing to others, over 5000. (when I still have a better computer overall but the same Graphiccard). One more question: Is it dangerous for the card to overclock? I don't have a special cooler, only the stock one on the card.

THANKS! /Micke

yours is agp, the others are PCI/e different cores. it could be dangerous but if you try use ATItool find max option . it will posty your core and mem highest possible setting but remeber that they may not work at those speeds together and when overclocking try a little at a time.

But if it works to play for an hour, then it's okay? Just so it doesnt get overheated or something like that... /m

If it's playing for that long then it should be fine. If it gets too hot then it will throttle to avoid damage

Throttle you say, that means that it WILL avoid damage? But I have this R430 core, memoryspeed at 350MHz, can't you change this? I've done some research and I can't find ONE SINGLE card that got that little (X800GTO), and then I'm thinking it must be PCI Express, but it doesnt say so in programs like "Everest" or "SiSoft Sandra 2005" I want higher speed !!! Must buy the new Radeon card when the games starting to be more demanding /Micke
