As for memory well i have about £700 all in for my new pc....for the cpu/mobo/ram/gfx/psu....so i have about 100-150 for memory. I want good gaming ram if there is such a thing but that will do the xp3700+ San Diego overclock to around the xp4000+ mark,.....if you get me.

So DFI has better overclocking options but is as stable as MSI/ASUS....i have never heard of DFI and i never liked the tweaky abit boards that offered lots of 'power features' but had stability probs....
No problem. Yeah, guess you'll have to really keep the Raid Controller then
DFI are generally considered the best overclocking boards now, but also aren't a cheap option. Here's a review of the Ultra-D from Anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2465&p=28

The MSI nf4 boards are also good bets and have more pci slots than the DFI boards. If you're getting Ram that's need low vdimm (2.8v or less) then this would be ideal.

I don't like Asus boards personally as they have a max vcore of 1.55v. If this isn't a problem then they offer good performance. Personally though, I like to push my CPU further than this

For ram, you can't go far wrong with the G Skill (second in this list): http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/G_Skill.html
Great overclockers, 2GB for games and just about on budget

This is a good motherboard, thier customer service is better than DFI, i also think the quality of thier motherboard's is better than DFI's, it has some very good overclocking feature's aswell

EDIT:/// As for RAM, i would suggest some PC4000 (DDR250), but there are also these OCZ PC3200 Platinum module's which contain Samsung's TCC5 Chip's which overclock well with low voltage's (< 2.9v)

I normally use OverclockersUK. I've edited the last post with some ram from there which is quite nice.

Here's some further info on the Ram: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...13&postcount=2
They use Infineon Chips, which are pretty much the best about for 2GB modules and should go upto about 270Mhz with decent timings.

My vote is for the G Skill as they're cheaper
The Corsair are good though, probably get to around 290Mhz or so. Depends if you want to spend the extra £
