You need to login to Games for Windows Live in order to be able to save progress.

Anyone else having problem with the internet. I lose connection a lot with this game only, mostly right after a match. I hate it when it says processing for like an hour

How fix the FOV, mouse acceleration and walking.

Quote:
How to fix the FOV (field of view):
From 2K Forums:

Quote:
in Windows, type %AppData% into the run dialog box (Winkey + R), then navigate to and open:
Bioshock2\\User.INI
To Fix the FOV for Widescreen:

Quote:
go to the [Default] section and bind an unused key to "SetFOV 90" without quotes. hit that key ingame to change the FOV. it holds between saves, so you shouldn't have to do it more than once.
To Reset FOV to Default

Quote:
go to the [Default] section and bind an unused key to "ResetFOV" without
quotes.
Example of a bind:

F9=SetFOV 90

FOV differences:
FOV 75
FOV 90

How to Enable Walking:

Quote:
go to the [Default] section and bind whatever key you want to "Walking" without the quotes.

To Make the Walk Button a Toggle:
find the line "Aliases[17]=(Command="Button bRun",Alias=Walking)" under [Engine.Input] and change it to "Aliases[17]=(Command="Toggle bRun",Alias=Walking)"
Note: the changes here are still in user.ini
How to fix the mouse acceleration:

Quote:
The main user config file is located here:
C:\\Documents and Settings\\username\\Application Data\\Bioshock2\\User.ini

1) Lower/adjust sensitivity

Set in-game sensitivity to "1" (and preferably disable mouse acceleration). Exit the game.
Open User.ini in Notepad, do Edit/Replace, and replace all "Speed=2000.0" with "Speed=xxx", where xxx is the desired sensitivity number. My mouse works great with speed 300.
How to change duck behavior to hold key instead of toggle

Quote:
In User.ini, replace

"Aliases[13]=(Command="Toggle bDuck|Axis aUp Speed=-1200.0",Alias=Duck)"

with

"Aliases[13]=(Command="Button bDuck",Alias=Duck)".

How to change zoom/aim behavior to hold key instead of toggle:

The below example works for binding Mouse4 button to zoom. See at the end of the example on how to bind other keys/buttons.

a) Bind keyboard key "P" (or any other unused key) to "Toggle Zoom" in game options. Exit the game

b) Unbind the desired zoom key, the one you want to press and hold for zoom.
For example: if the zoom key was bound to Mouse4 originally, in User.ini, replace all "Mouse4=ZoomCycle" with "Mouse4=".

c) Google, download, and install software called "GlovePIE". Run the software.

Go into Scripts tab (below the File menu), and type
"
Key.P = pressed(Mouse.XButton1)
Key.P = released(Mouse.XButton1)
"

Go to File/Save As, and save the script as bioshock2.pie.

Click on the green Run button. This should set Mouse4 to provide hold behavior for the zoom functionality.

The above script says that "P" is emulated every time XButton1 is pressed or released. Which works fairly well in the game.

If you wanted to bind a different key for hold zoom function, say, keyboard key "Z", then the script should look like this:
"
Key.P = pressed(Key.Z)
Key.P = released(Key.Z)

I change my opinion on loosing the wrench, Frozen plasmid max rank plus drill charge = overpowered ( especially with the freezing drill tonic )

What is this Games for Windows Live crap? I've been waiting for 15 minutes so far for what ever this crap is to update. Couldn't do a game save until it was installed. This is bulls**t.

It was known that Games for Windows Live was part of the requirements for the game. You should have read before complaining.
