Thread Starter
Im looking for a new cooler for my cpu it must be silent... and it must suport my overclock (im quite newbie on it.. i just changed it from 3.0 to 3.2...) and it musnt be too expensive or a SUPER heavy one... im thinking on :
- THERMALRIGHT XP-120 (w/ a silent fan) ---------------- 52€ + fan
- THERMALRIGHT XP-90C COBRE (w/ a silent fan) --------- 43€ + fan
- ZALMAN 7000B - AlCu OEM SOCKET 478 ---------------- 25€
- SCYTHE NINJA SCNJ-1000 ----------------------------- 52€ + fan (or not... still not sure if it needs it in my system, but its kinda heavy... will my board hold it?)
- SCYTHE KATANA w/ 92mm FAN ------------------------- 34€

im thinking of buying katana... but still not sure... (the zalman is pretty cheap..)

help me out

For silent operation, I would go with an xp-120 with a quiet fan or a Big Tyhoon. Both will give you excellent cooling at a bare minimum of sound.

A Panaflo medium speed fan is quiet and effiecient with great CFM.

I like the Thermaltake A2018 as well. It can be turned down for silent operation or cranked up to near 100 cfm without too much noise when additional cooling is necessary.

Thermaltake big typhoon. Beats all the ones you posted as far as noise-to-cooling ratio.
