X800 GTO cooling

Thread Starter
hello! i have an x800 gto gecube uniwise edition single slot solution cooliong fan agp 128mb (and breathe.....) and my max temp is like 55 degrees C in a house with a hot radiator. Is it worth takinf it off and applying AS5. also does AS5 expire as i got a 3 year old one and hope it doesnt blow anything up. Also i see some cheap foam pads on my ram. Will cooling this give me much higher OC on the ram? i can only OC rm by 35MHz and 70MHz effective. if i do go about this how do i take of the previous compound if it has any....thanks for the help!!!! also is 55 degrees safe or just wasitng my time chanigng it and voiding warranty....

AS5 will probably lower your temps by a few degrees, but 55C is a good temp for the card if this is under load. You could use this on your ram as well, clean with 95% alcohol or a thermal remover such as ArctiClean.

Doubt that this would improve your overclock by very much, if at all though.
If you really wanted to o/c more, you could try a volt mod, but this would mean soldering resistors to the PCB and you'd need good aftermarket cooling to go with this.

I have a Connect3D X800GTO OC-ed to 550/550. How much more I'll be able to OC it if I put on it a Arctic Cooling Silencer???
