Alrite, i've been having trouble loading windows on my 250 gig wd SATAI hard drive, i can run it as a slave right now , but i cant load windows on it, i have another seagate 40 gig IDE drive that would load windows. for some reason it recognizes the 250 SATA in the bios but it wont let me load windows on it, i've updated all the drivers for my mobo but still no avail..

Tells us how you have installed windows on it...

The most certain reason for this is that your boot.ini file is not configured to let you choose which system to boot from which HDD.

You can try this:
When you boot your PC, press F8 right away, so that you can get up the "menu" where you can choose what device to boot from, and there, you choose your 250Gig.

You can also make this change in BIOS for permanent if you wish.
Look under Boot section in your BIOS, or Boot Device... (something like that)

Oki, let's see if I understand this correctly.
You only have Windows XP installed on the 40Gig, and not the 250Gig?

If that's the case, why are you trying to boot it from the 250Gig?

What you need to do, is change the Boot Device in BIOS to the 40Gig again.

If that don't help, well, if you don't have a rescue disk or CD/DVD, then the only option left is to either format, or "repair" Windows using the Windows XP CD.
Just put it in the CD-ROM, and it should boot by itself, if not, press F8 under boot, and choose your CD-ROM to boot from it.

Well, I orignally only had one hard drive, the 250gig, and then i found out that it wouldnt load windows and i picked up an IDE for it , but it seems to be a little slow and i'm looking to make it run as fast as I can with what i've got, so i was thinking of just running windows off my 250, it being SATA and all.
