I have my athlon 3200+ clocked at 2.5ghz with 280/9, my vcore is 1.5 (I think, it can't be much more) and my north bridge is 1.7. This is my first overclock and I would really like to get this up to 2.6ghz stable. Could anyone help?

Have you determined the seperate max stable OC of your RAM and CPU?

Well the max of my cpu is what I have it as, I have no idea about ram though. I don't have a clue what I'm doing that that. What does it have to do with the cpu?

It's a ballance thing
To find the max of the CPU... put an excessive divider on the RAM. That way the RAM won't effect the CPU's OCing.
To OC the RAM ... reduce the CPU's multiplyer to 7x so the CPU won't effect the RAM's OCing.
The RAM utilizes a multiplyer of HT of 5, 4, 3 and 2 ... 5 being the default.
So... 5x200=1000MHz and should be kept to that maxium or below.
When you up the HTT the RAM can be kept in check and below by reducing the HT multiplyer
201-250HTT use 4x
251-333HTT use 3x
The irony is eventhough you may be below the 1000MHz id does not effect the RAMs performance but maintains stability.
Once you know the MAX Stable speeds of the two the OCing should come together easier.
Watch your temps and keep the full load max to 50c

Have you read the guides on how to overclock? They're at the top of the page on this forum. They give a very detailed guide on the best way to OC. Basically you first want to divide the components up and find the individual maxes of each component (cpu, fsb, and ram) so that you'll know what your boundaries. From there you can experiment what gives you the best combo. Whenever you get unstable, you just back down on the component that is stressed out the most. Highly recommend reading the guides and then if you have any more Q's feel free to ask.

Dont touch your northbridge voltage, leave at default which should be 1.5, or you can bump it up one notch to 1.6. It doesn't make a difference with OC'n.

As far as getting to 2.6. It's easy, Just figure out how to run a divider on your ram, and input these numbers

260 x 10
HTT x 4
Vcore 1.5 - 1.6 (start lower, then increase if not stable, dont go over 1.6)
Leave memory at default like you have now
Memory divider 166 (333)

This should work, I recommend learning the basic settings for overclocking...FSB, Divider, HTT, CPU multi, HTT multi, timings...

some mobo's need the chipset voltage upped a little bit to stay stable, and also set ya htt multi to 3x NOT 4x, as soon as you go past about 250 htt(fsb you have to go to 3x to stay under the magic 1000 (as the duke mentioned)

Some MBs don't have a "Memory Divided" in the BIOS which offers a % or x:x ratio for finer tuning the divider. You can reduce the bus speed of the RAM to 166, 133, 100 to envolk it that way though!
