This is a very lazy thing to say and do. You either just don't care or think the problem is too big can't be solved and say lets just forget about it.

I say this is lazy because I have personally spent significant time in Haiti. Firstly this video is right in some respects but flat out wrong in others. It is lazy reporting trying to dramatize and not show the whole truth.

Haiti's government IN FACT has employed people to clean up following the earth quake. The are readily seen in PAP everyday cleaning.

This is an image I took about a year ago in PAP. So much for virtually no clean up effort. That video dramatizes and skews the truth. The Haitian people are working hard to better themselves and yes the Haitian Government does suck but it's another straight lie to say they've done nothing. The people they employ are plainly visible and actually wear uniforms. (they are not picture below)

Also the problem is not hopeless and here is a video I made for a mission that has SIGNIFICANTLY improved the life of an entire country side in Haiti and has virtually wiped out malnutrition in an area where it was once rampant:

I am reminded of a quote the former Israeli ambassador to Egypt attributed to Hosni Mubarak:

"Foreign aid is taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries".

Truer words have not been spoken.
Really? Truer words have not been spoke?

Then give the money to an established Charity that has a proven track record of doing REAL good. It is mostly government to government that money is transferred. When was the last time you heard some one say they donated money to the Haitian Government?

There are numerous and real NGO's in Haiti that do incredible work and have saved as well as improved the lives of thousands of Haitians. I have been there I have seen it.

Haiti is going through a lot of problems, as there are frequent Earthquakes leaving lives devastated everywhere. Also the people there are very brave to continue living there. It's really a good way of doing something for them. People should definitely donate in huge nos.
