Speedfan help please !

Thread Starter
Just got speedfan because the front fan on my case is sort of noisy, and it wont let me slow it down at all, any ideas?

I've got the fan plugged in and it runs fine , but just want to take it down a little bit.

Unfortunately, Speedfan doesn't have the ability to control all fans. If you can't get it to work, you have a couple of options. You can get a fan controller for your system, which would allow you to manually control your fan speeds. You could also undervolt your fans, essentially providing them a lower voltage, which results in lower speeds. There's a good guide for that on the site.

i've been looking around , saw a fan guide on here and read through that, i have both my 4 pin and the connector going to the mobo, the mobo connection is only a 1 wire connector though, not sure if thats what needs to be hooked up and that only or what, oh well.

Are you talking about 1 wire leading to a 3 pin connector on the mobo and also a 4 pin connector to the PSU? If so, that's pretty typical. The single wire should be yellow, and that's for RPM monitoring of the fan. The red and black wires to the 4 pin (aka molex) power connectors provide power to the fan. I haven't read through the undervolting guides in a while, but I seem to recall them being fairly easy. Those mods are performed on the red and black wires, I believe.
