radeon x850 pro overclocking help

hi!

i was very sad that my sapphire radeon x850 pro vivo agp was not moddable to unlock 16 pipes.
therefor i want to get more speed out of the card. i'm using the ati silencer 5 with following temps:

idle 34/35 | load 52/49 [no overclock=500/500]

i used ati tool to get a perfect clock, but when i reached approx. 590 mhz core (no artifacts encounterd so far) my pc freezed and i had to reboot. what was that?
so i overclocked to a safe range [540/550] with following temps:

idle 34/35 | load 54/51 [540/550]

not bad but i want more!
how far can i go without damaging the card?

It's very unlikely that you can damage your card with sensible overclocking as the card will throttle if it gets too hot.
What psu do you have? This is likely to be the cause of the reset if you didn't get any artifacts.

Yep, that's likely to be the cause of the reset at those speed levels. Upto you whether you want to buy another psu for the extra few Mhz you'll gain on your card.
