is my cpu hindering my gfx card?

i'm just wondering wether or not my cpu is hurting my vid card. i'm wondering this because i checked the benchmark comp and i was getting destroyed in bm's by radeon 9600's i know my card isn't high end. but i know that its at least as powerful or more then the 9800 pro. but still doesn't get higher then 33000 in aquamark. so i'm thinking that my cpu is limiting the abilities of my vid card. again .... i know its not a high end card but it should be less laggy then it is. my possible new cpu should take care of that i hope.

Yeah it's probably your CPU. Or you have a glitched video card. I have the same video card as you and un OCed I get 55,000. Have you tryed ocing your processor?

I'm not very good at this yet so I can't help you out much.

Yes, I am fairly certain its your CPU. The ram is fine and everything else seems to be up to par. Socket A is pretty much dead, but to upgrade all you would need is a new mobo/processor which isn't so bad. With a 3000+ 754 socket, you'd be back in business. Even better, get a 939 socket with a 3000 or 3200+ and you'd would be back in the game! Good luck

yeah 939 is the way i'm going .... slightly more expensive but much more worth it .... i figured i should be beating the 9800's what with the ddr 2 ram and all. i couldn't oc my cpu my mb won't allow it. but hopefully since my sempron is heating to over 50 degrees C without oc i'll get warranty work done. and get my new cpu and board

also anyone know the oc range for the x700?
