In the grand scheme of things, it's really not that bad. I had to raise mine 8 ticks over stock - 1.152 to 1.192 at load and I have one of the lowest 4ghz OC's here. Each move is 0.00625v, BIOS set. Your chip has a pretty high VID to begin with, so it makes it look worse than it is, but if you only have to raise it 3-4 then you're doing great.
It certainly works, but I think for a daily overclock I'll put vcore to stock and do a 3.8Ghz overclock. More than enough for me.
Now I'll start benching with it.
