Ok, so I fibbed a bit. Before I ran 100 passes of IBT I double checked the settings and found the QPI/Vtt is running at 1.15v, not the default of 1.10v. Either way, .05v above default is still mighty fine in my books.
A 1Ghz overclock is all that I really wanted out of this chip and I'm content to leave it there, especially since I would have a hard time replacing fear if it went pop.
Now I get to do what I find REALLY fun about overclocking. Dialing down voltages to keep things as safe and cool as possible and tightening memory timings based on benchmarks. I noticed that someone is using Ripjaws but running at the same frequency and timings as me but using a 1T command rate with more voltage. Since I still have .10v of headroom this should be a blast!
After that I'll take a shot at my 5770.
Here's the proof!
Oh, and I had to throw in a gratuitous shot of the girls from Black Lagoon.Edited by Perry - 4/27/10 at 3:44am
