Its stable but is is safe for stock?

OK I just did some tinkering and took my fsb up to 283 with a 8.5 multiplier and using a 3:2 divider I have the memory just above 200Mhz. I have tried getting the clocks higher with the 9 multiplier but the value ram won t take anything above 192Mhz without stability troubles. I m running the vcore @ 1.475v and with prime95 running in tourture test mode for over an hour and a half with these settings and Speenfan is reporting temps on full load of 47-48C. I m hanging here at this level cause my cooling solution is stock with 2 case fans and a thought out positioning of vents to optimize airflow. No fancy fans just simple case fans from old comps.

MY question is will prime95 push the cpu to its max temp or will I find out with a blue screen that gaming on doom3 will push it higher? I really don t wanna spend cash on this rig before I buy a 6800gs agp a new HD and 1 fresh gig o ram. Thanks gang.

Your temps shouldn't go any higher than they are now when playing games. I normally find they're a bit lower.

Off topic, when you get your AGP 6800GS, would you mind posting in this thread: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/6517...gp-6800gs.html
Got a hunch that some of these will unlock to 16/6 with Rivatuner

OK cool so Prime95's tourture test is going to max out my temps. Now the question that begs to leap from my tounge is how high can I push the temp before I should worry?
I was honestly going to wait on gettin the card till someone reported on a successful unlock. I see evga and xfx both have 6800gs for around 220 usd on zipzoomfly and newegg but if my wallet gets in front of my brain I ll be sure to test and post. Peace.

I'd say get better cooling before raising anything else. Should try and keep your temps aroung 50C, so you're getting pretty close to this level already.
