Yes. Just like every other money hungry "Aid Foundation." It's happened before and it'll happen again. I'm not saying they're all bad, but people need to be wary of where their money goes.

I don't see why it's such a big deal if people don't want to give. You shouldn't rag on them.

Do you remember the last homeless person you saw? Did they rag on you for not giving them something to eat? People are starving and in need of aid in our own hometowns and you will never see this type of effort to help them. Just some food for thought.

This is in no way a political post. People need to realize that saving a little bit instead of giving is no big deal. Haiti is already receiving Billions from the US and other countries.

My prayers are with you Haiti, that's all I can give them as of now.

I was thinking about this when I opened this topic. I done a very quick search on 9/11 and donations. I only checked one source, and it was dated from 2008, but it said there had been ~$1.2 Billion donated/raised for that. From what the UN said 4+ days ago, there had been around $700+ Million for Haiti already, so you can probably say around $1 Billion by now, and not sure if that includes how much raised from benefit things either, so could be much more.

That amazed me, but of course 9/11 was nowhere near the level of devastation magnitude of Haiti either. But still, I find it odd how we reach out so much for others, but when it comes to our own problems it always seems like people are less generous/caring. I'd like to know the numbers for Katrina vs. Haiti donations/raised. I'd bet in the little time since Haiti, that it has gotten close if not surpassed what Katrina got in years of time.

I donated 50 bucks for Haiti. Maybe more once I get tax refund back.

They won't let me donate blood until I'm 21... I go to a third world country to help out, and now I can't give blood...

21? Never heard of that. We had blood drives in high school all the time.

Some sort of health condition or medication?
