Should I do one last AGP upgrade to a x850pr or xt? or should I spend 100 dollars on a mobo with a pic-e slot?

Thanks in advance.

I'm in the same predicament as you. I think I'm gonna upgrade the mobo, because with AGP you're gonna be at the highest point with that card.

EDIT: So I'm going PCI-E just for future-proofness.

New mobo, more opportunities!

Leave your computer the way it is now. I dont see why you want to change anything on it. Wait for something new.

Well all depends.
If you have a big budget then you should upgrade for a pci-e mobo.If not, the x850xt is perfect for now.

Looking at your specs, you are going to probably want to upgrade several things (Matching pair RAM for dual-channel, newer sound card, etc.). If you are trying to add 1-2 years more life to your system, I'd just upgrade the video card. Upgrading from an X700 to an X850 isn't going to be a tremendous improvement though. If you had a 9700, like I did, I'd say upgrade the card. In your case, I'd say wait a while, and upgrade everything. I guess it all depends on how much money you've got.

Yeah I guess you're right.

Even if I did get the mobo with the PCI-e slot I wouldent have enough money for a new video card. So i'll just probably upgrade to a better sound blaster card, dual channel RAM, and possibly a bigger processor.

As always, quick and good help. Thanks guys.
