A Guide to make your own custom haf 932 full window

Ok at the request of lots of people I am doing a guide to making a full window mod for the coolermaster HAF 932 as seen here:

Ok this was a lot easier than you would think and here is my step by step guide to doing it

What you need

Acrylic sheet
4 motherboard mounting standoffs
4 thumb screws
dremmel
AC RYAN 120mm rad grill
Black electrical tape
cordless drill and bits

1: Get the Acrylic

I purchased my acrylic 2mm thick sheet from ebay here is a link to the company
http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Select...__W0QQ_armrsZ1

They cut acrylic sheets to size and order and the prices are very reasonable and they also supply the glue. It needs to be 2mm thick or it will not sit plush against the case.

I measured the exact size of the original case side panel and I also measured the size of the notches on the inside so that the window would sit exacly flush with the case like the original.

2: Make the panel

As you can see I then glued the smaller pieces of acrylic to the main panel in exacly the same place as the notches are placed on the original side panel.
(WARNING THIS GLUE GIVES OFF FUMES THAT WOULD KNOCK AN ELEPHANT UNCONCIOUSE SO MAKE SURE YOUR WINDOWS ARE OPEN)
I then used a coffee table upside down to give enough pressure on the fixings for them to dry in place.

3: create the fixings on the case

Ok this part is easy, firstly place your newly created panel against the case and make sure if fits snug. The measure four equal paoints in a square I used masking tape on the edges to do this.

Once you have done this you can drill the holes you need to measure the drillbit against a motherboard mounting standoff you want it to me slightly bigger so that the standoff fits through the hole and allow a little bit of movement.

I used a metal drill bit which cut through the acrylic nicely but be carefull not not crack it be gentle.

Once you have cut the holes again place the acrylic window against the case but this time mark the holes on the case so that they match up.

Right this part you need to do right, Get 4 motherboard mounting standoffs and measure the depth of them against the depth of the acrylic.

You want the main body the the motherboard mounting standoffs to sit just below the level of the acrylic as these will be your mounting screw holes and used to keep the window in place.

The last thing you need to do is drill the 4 holes on the case using a drillbit that is the same size or very slightly smaller than the thread on the motherboard mounting standoff.

4: Fitting the window

Right now you need to take the 4 motherboard mounting standoffs and screw them into the holes on the case you have just drilled. Once attached I used a little bit of superglue on the inside of the sace where the thread ahse come through in order to stablise and hole the mounting in place. When your done it should look like this:

5: Now is the easy part

place the window on the case it should fit snug and the motherboard standoffs will hold it in place. Now just find yourself 4 thumb screws to hold it securely in place. You may need to cut the threads of the thumb screw down so that it fits nice and tight.

Finally I used black electrical tape and very carefully placed it along the top and bottom edge and used a hot screwdriver to pierce the holes.

If you want to fit a fan on the side it is easy I used the AC RYAN radiator grill and the guide that they supplied. I then cut around it with a dremmel and fixed it in place with some nice black screws.

I hope this helped everyone this is my first ever guide so I hope it was ok
