is this a good overclock
what else can i do to go higher

That's a good oc. Remember you're at 3.8 GHz so you got around 26% more from your cpu !

Two things though:
1) Your vcore seems a bit high. Try not to exceed 1.525V.
I don't think you need to increase it that much to reach 3.8 on a P4 3.0.
2) It's better to save the attached images in a JPG format as they will have a much smaller size (10 times less or even more than BMP).

Good luck with your oc`ing attempts.

A high vcore doesn't stop you from taking your cpu higher.
On the other hand, it does shorten the life of your cpu if the heat it causes is not taken care of. If you raise the vcore too much you can instantly kill your cpu (1.7V is the max recommended for a Northwood).
If your mobo is automatically raising vcore as your increase the FSB then I'd say it's time to stop playing with that FSB.
Decrease it a little and check the vcore again... does it go down accordingly ?

That CPU is a Northwood, so you can go safely to around 1.7 volts on vcore.

I am a bit new to this but I just got a system together. I got about 30% and I think the Pross is pegged. I haven't been able to push it passed the 30% stable. I am on water and have no temp issues so I think that's about all you will get out of the pross. I have tried everything to get higher and be stable but with no luck.

You sure Nortwood can go only to 1.7? My stock CPU was on 1.6.

Yup. Northys can go to 1.7 volts and Prescotts to 1.525 volts. Those voltages are contingent upon adequate cooling (55°C and 65°C for Northwoods and Prescotts, respectively), and in the case of very good cooling, those voltages can be exceeded by a bit. I certainly would not suggest bumping vcore to the limits straight off; incrementally bumping vcore while monitoring temperatures and stability is the way to go. Also, not every CPU responds to voltage in the same way. In some cases, higher voltages may actually reduce stability.

that is a great overclock...i have a 3.0 prescott and i am running 3.745 and im for the most part stable,i just need some better cooling...but there is no need to have your vcore that high...i run 1.32v on mine but yours is a northy so im not sure the difference. But to me that oc lookes very good, anything over 25% oc is great

Yes a NW core chip is fine to 1.7///trust me iv done a little overclocking in my time Now on to your Overclock mate, that 3.0c is a sl6wk D1 30 cap? if so then your right inline with normal clock's some of them got to 4ghz but u might be limited by your mobo's voltage option's. I say u got a damn nice clock there 3.8 on a NW core is pretty quick!
