So I'll be doing some stuff with my drive bays for the next week or two
The first little mod I'll be doing involves Antec 900 drive bay covers!
What I'm going to be doing:
1. Replace current drive bay covers with Antec 900 ones
2. Stealth my CD/DVD drive
3. Put in two blue light switches for my cathodes (in one of the covers)
4. Add two 4" white cathodes to the drive bays, and one 12" blue cathode to the top
5. ???
6. Profit
First order of business: Put in the new drive bays to make sure it fits nicely!
And what do you know. They won't just snap in like my old ones
Normally, here's where super glue would enter the project. But alas, I have none. So, I whipped out my handy dandy hot glue gun!
Pics of my glue job:
It looks fairly good... The cathodes should look quite nice behind it methinks.
My next project will be adding the switches in. I have one of them right now. I'll be running to Radio Shack to pickup another switch, a soldering iron, and some wire (if they have any?). Here's the switch I'll be using:
The round part will be coming out the drive bays, and its got a 12mm diameter. Can I use a 12.7mm drill bit and have it still be tight enough that I won't need any supports for the switch? Or should I look into finding a way to make it tighter? Only thing I'm worried about really.
More pics to come guys
